On Sunday 19 June, tens of thousands of people will fill the streets to celebrate our fantastic city as Manchester Day returns. We are looking for enthusiastic people to play a key role in helping us bring the streets to life with an incredible spectacle of music, colour and performance.
We are looking for Wayfinding Volunteers and Participant Support Volunteers.
Wayfinding Volunteers: Sunday 19 June, 10am – 3pm
We need volunteers to be the public face of Manchester Day distributing free programmes and answering any questions people have about the day. This is a vital part of the event so that everyone knows what's happening, when and where. As you’ll be positioned along the route or in one of the city’s Squares, you’ll be in the heart of the action, seeing the Parade or performances and enjoying the atmosphere.
Volunteers for this role will work in teams with a team leader to refer to for any support needed and receive a briefing on the morning of the event to ensure they have all the information needed to be able to carry out the role.
Participant Support Volunteers: Sunday 19 June, 9am – 5pm
We need volunteers to support our 1,500 participants in Manchester Day. If you sign up to this role then here’s a flavour of what you might be doing:
You’ll be able to specify which role you’d prefer to do when you sign up, we’ll do our best to offer you this role but can’t guarantee it. Or tell us if you don’t mind what you do.
Briefings will either be held on the day or prior to the event. You will be sent further details of this closer to the time.
We offer travel expenses of up to £5 for the WoW Weekends and event day and we’ll also provide lunch on these days. More information will be provided on sign up. Those volunteering on Sunday 19 June will also receive a Manchester Day 2022 T-shirt.
