Royal Exchange Theatre

About Us

Manchester’s Royal Exchange Theatre Company transforms the way people see theatre, each other and the world around them. Our historic building, once the world’s biggest cotton exchange, was taken over by artists in 1976. Today it is an award-winning cultural charity that produces new theatre in-the-round, in communities, on the road and online.

Volunteering at Royal Exchange Theatre

We believe theatre is for everyone, and we’re passionate about proving it. For over forty years the Royal Exchange Theatre has been a hub of superb storytelling and a vibrant cultural centre for Manchester and the region, and there are even more exciting times ahead. We see our volunteer team as an integral part of this journey and we are committed to providing a variety of opportunities to the people of Greater Manchester and beyond, enhancing the quality of the work we do by utilising your skills, passion and dedication. We know that volunteers give up their time for lots of different reasons, so we also make sure we have the right support for you whatever your drive, whether that be to gain work experience, meet new friends or improve confidence.
