Who we are:

At We Hold a Hand, we are focused on connecting Africans and Caribbeans with professional therapists. Our mission is to raise mental health awareness and provide culturally relevant mental health support to the African and Caribean communities worldwide. We are looking for passionate volunteers to help us in various areas of our platform, including our mental health awareness events.

What are we looking for?

Qualifications:

Passion for mental health awareness and community support.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Organizational skills and attention to detail.

Previous volunteer or event planning experience is a plus, but not required.

 

What would you be doing as a volunteer?

As a volunteer, you will play a crucial role in supporting our mission to promote mental health awareness and provide accessible therapy services. You will assist in various areas of the platform, including event organization, marketing, community outreach, and administrative tasks. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience, make a positive impact, and be part of a supportive team.

Location: Fully Remote / Onsite

Commitment: Flexible hours, with a minimum of 5 hours per week

Duration: Ongoing, with opportunities for short-term or long-term involvement

 

Key Responsibilities to pick from:

Event Support:

Assist in planning, organizing, and executing mental health awareness events.

Help with event setup, registration, and coordination.

Engage with attendees and provide information about our services.

 

Marketing and Outreach:

Assist in creating and distributing promotional materials.

Manage social media accounts and engage with our online community.

Help develop content for our website, newsletters, and blogs.

 

Community Engagement:

Reach out to community organizations, schools, and businesses to build partnerships.

Participate in community outreach programs to raise awareness about mental health.

 

Administrative Support:

Assist with data entry, scheduling, and other administrative tasks.

Help maintain accurate records of volunteer activities and event participation.

 

Special Projects:

Participate in special projects as needed, such as research, grant writing, and program development.
